Pottery or Woodworking: Hands-On Heritage Experiences at One Arrow Cultural Lodge

One Arrow Cultural Lodge, a proud initiative of One Arrow First Nation, continues to offer meaningful cultural experiences that connect visitors with the traditions and craftsmanship of our ancestors. This summer, the spotlight turns to two cherished art forms — Pottery and Woodworking — giving guests the unique opportunity to learn, create, and engage in the spirit of Indigenous heritage.

Through guided workshops led by skilled local artisans, participants can explore the timeless techniques of shaping clay into functional and decorative pottery, or carve and assemble wood using traditional methods passed down through generations. Whether you choose the meditative rhythm of the pottery wheel or the precise, hands-on creativity of woodworking, each path provides a powerful link to Indigenous identity and self-expression.

“These aren’t just crafts — they are stories in motion,” says a lead instructor at the Cultural Lodge. “Each piece tells something about who we are, where we come from, and what we carry forward.”

The workshops are open to all ages and skill levels. Materials are provided, and all creations can be taken home as a personal keepsake or shared as a gift. More importantly, visitors walk away with a deeper understanding of the One Arrow people, their resilience, and their traditions that continue to thrive today.

Bookings for Pottery and Woodworking sessions can be made directly through the One Arrow Cultural Lodge website. Join us, and be part of a living history — one crafted by hand and heart.
